Rendezvous Adventure Outfitters opened its doors in early 2017 on Main Street in Lindsborg, KS - in the heart of "Little Sweden." Locally owned and operated, we are an outdoor clothing and equipment retailer, specializing in offering the best apparel and gear in the industry for anyone needing to gear up for their next adventure. We are in the business of building community, and helping to foster a love of adventure and the outdoors, and to this end, we regularly host events such as local hikes, film screenings, and presentations by a variety of local experts on topics related to the outdoors that can help people learn skills, experience new things, or meet up with friends for a fun outdoor-related evening. Whether you're heading out for a weekend campout, climbing a Colorado 14er, or traveling internationally, we are your source for Adventure!
Rendezvous is owned and operated by Rick and Julie Bodenhamer. Rick is an Eagle Scout, a former Assistant Scout Master, and had 17 years experience in the Outdoor Industry, prior to opening Rendezvous. He began his career with REI in Phoenix, where his store earned "Store of the Year" two years in a row during his time there. When we moved our family back home to Kansas, he went to work at Mountain High, a locally owned mountain shop in Wichita, and went on to become the General Manager for Backwoods Wichita for 10 years. Julie grew up camping, has a background in history and archaeology, and loves to travel and explore. Together we have a passion for the outdoors, and enjoy helping others get out and enjoy it.
Rendezvous was born in the mountains, around a Colorado campfire, in reference to the early Mountain Men and their yearly meetings, or "Rendezvous", where they would come together to trade, laugh, share stories, and encourage each other. This is a concept that we want to incorporate into the culture of our store. We want it to be a place where Modern Day Adventurers can come together through various store events, or simply drop by, "Just Because," to support one another, gear up for their next adventure, trade stories, and share their common passion for the outdoors.
